Kotabaru Transportation Agency boosts traffic safety through HubFest 2026 - ANTARA News Kalimantan Selatan
Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Transportation Office (Dishub) of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan Province, made it efforts to enhance traffic safety by organizing HubFest 2026, featuring a "Traffic Safety Campaign" theme.
Kotabaru Deputy Regent Syairi Mukhlis said the campaign is part of the district government's commitment to ensuring traffic safety in the "Bumi Saijaan" (Kotabaru) region.
HubFest not only disseminates education and socialization, but also builds awareness that safety is the responsibility of all road users, both drivers, passengers, or pedestrians.
Vice Regent also said that the district government not only focus on transportation vehicles, but also on other supporting infrastructure facilities.
“The government of Kotabaru through Regent Muhammad Rusli and I, Deputy Regent Syairi Mukhlis and all ranks want to make Kotabaru a regency that is open to all other regions. We therefore continue to improve the regional connectivity, particularly the Tanjung Serdang crossing, the crossing dock of Sebuku island, and the bridge (connecting) Pulau Laut and the mainland of Kalimantan in Tanah Bumbu which is targeted to complete by the end of 2028,” he said.

The government continues to strive to extend the Kotabaru Airport runway, hoping to open up access, not only for flight to Banjarmasin, but a direct access to destinations in Java, such as Surabaya and Jakarta.
Through the Transportation Office, the district government also realizes Trans Saijaan Kotabaru, a program that is one of vision and mission of the Regent and Deputy Regent to facilitate transportation access for all segments of the society, including students, and as an effort to reduce traffic accident rates in the Kotabaru.
“Tonight we are launching Trans Saijaan, which serves several route across Kotabaru from morning to night at 21.00 pm. This service is free for the entire Kotabaru community as well as students, in support of programs and vision and mission of the regional head,” he explained.
Head of Transportation Office, Khairian Anshari, reported that HubFest also served as a plaform to foster innovation and creativity among public.
